Office Ergonomics Training - The Heaviest Things in the World Are Sleepy Eyelids...

"Good Morning, Grumpy Bear"

Sleep is vital to your overall health, wellness, rejuvenation, mental alertness, physical performance, your mood, even sitting in your chair at work - you name it, sleep will improve it

However, far too many of us are moving 90 miles an hour, with our overly busy lives, that we view getting 7 or 8 hours of sleep a night as a luxury. We've let sleep deprived bodies become the norm rather than the exception.

In today's world avoiding a hectic life is sometimes "unavoidable". Yet, there are many things we do each and every day that keep us from getting that golden sleep. They're called "Sleep Stealers" and they will rob our bodies until we either get a watch dog or simply collapse from shear exhaustion.

Or maybe we can try to recognize those pesky sleep thieves and make simple, healthy lifestyle changes that have huge, this sounds much easier.

Did you know you go through many different stages of sleep each night? The two most valuable are Deep and R.E.M. (Rapid Eye Movement) Sleep. Deep Sleep and REM sleep are essential for healthy, rejuvenating sleep.

To understand the differences, watch this brief 90 second video

If you're not getting proper amounts of Deep and REM sleep, chances are you almost always wake up tired and battle drowsiness throughout the day. Uh oh, you're probably feeling the effects of "Sleep Stealers" causing pain and/or sleep disorders.

You can probably think of a few off the top of your head. For Day 19, we're going to focus on some of the more common circumstances for depriving ourselves of healthy restorative sleep.
